Fully comprehensive insurance

This expression is used when the insurance policy includes all the cover normally applicable to a given risk. Despite its name, only the risks listed in the policy are covered.

For example, fully comprehensive automobile insurance usually covers civil liability, the legal defense of the driver, and damages due to fire and theft of the vehicle.
