Every year we celebrate Financial Education Day

Understanding basic financial concepts has become essential for our daily lives.

At Fundación MAPFRE we are committed to transmitting the culture of finance and insurance and therefore, every year, we join in with Financial Education Day which is celebrated on the first Monday of October.

By organizing different activities, talks, debates, and PlayPension championships, we take part in this special day through which we want to raise awareness of how important it is for our society to have a basic level of financial education to enable people to make informed choices and manage the risks associated with financial decisions.

In 2017, and within the scope of this celebration, we were awarded the Financial Education Plan Finance for All Implementation Award, for the Seguros y Pensiones para Todos (Insurance and Pensions for All) project.

This award, organized by the Bank of Spain and the CNMV, recognizes our work to ensure that the general public has an adequate level of financial and insurance culture at the various stages of life.

Financial Education Day is an initiative of Finanzasparatodos (Finance for everybody) (Financial Education Plan), developed together with the Bank of Spain and the Spanish Securities Market Commission (CNMV), in conjunction with the General Directorate of Insurance and Pension Funds and the General Secretariat of the Treasury and International Finance. The goal is to raise awareness of the importance of acquiring adequate knowledge of financial culture applicable to different stages of life
