Bond

A bond is a debt instrument issued by companies and public administrations to finance themselves.

In essence, a bond is like a loan made to an organization or a government whereby the debtor undertakes to repay the money invested plus the agreed interest rate. That is why bonds are known as fixed-income assets.

The Spanish Treasury’s Bonos del Estado are securities issued for a term of more than two years that pay a coupon periodically.
