The CPI or Consumer Price Index is an indicator that measures the evolution of prices in a country. In Spain, it is produced by the National Statistics Institute (INE in Spanish). It is the main indicator of inflation in a country.
The CPI is compiled from a basket of 955 items that are representative of the average consumption in the country.
