In Spain, personal income tax is known as IRPF (Impuesto sobre la Renta de las Personas Físicas). It is the main direct tax in a country and, as its name suggests, it is levied on income, both from work and investments.
Personal income tax is payable from one year to the next and must be paid during the tax season.
