Sharpe ratio

It is a financial ratio that is analyzed primarily for evaluating investment funds. The Sharpe ratio measures the excess return per unit of risk. What it does is relate the return of a fund to the risk it runs, i.e. volatility.

The higher the Sharpe ratio, the higher the fund’s return for the risk it takes on.
